INTRODUCTION.

As a marketing trainee manager and field oriented and experienced marketer I have come to understand that with marketing principles, you can take control and convert your seemingly unobtrusive circumstance around you. And as a writer and a motivator i deemed it fit that i reach you with this blog through my marketing experience and prowess.

So, my dear reader i want you to sit, fasten your seat belt as we’re about to take off to that desirable and self-fulfilling achiever in the world of marketing.

To start with as this being my first post i want to talk about introduction. you’ll agree with me that introduction is very important when we’re meeting somebody we’ve not seen or met before. Introduction therefore gives room for interaction and knowing each other better. There is more to introduction than hi, I am Gregory Pius. Let look at these three words that makes a perfect introduction.

SMILE:  According to oxford dictionary, smile is a facial expression indicating pleasure and amusement, with lips stretching and their ends upturned. This means when you are not smiling, you’ll definitely look horrible, and you cannot come to me with your face looking horrible and expect me to parley with you. It’s never done. I will definitely be scared of you and run for my life because I will see you as somebody who has evil intention. however, when you always smile, you will become everyone friend, People would want to be with you, they would want to associate with you. You need to see real enthusiastic marketers when marketing in the field. You will see how they are smiling while approaching a customer thereby creating curiosity in their mind. They will be wondering why this person is smiling. Who is he anyway? Is he someone I know? All these will run through their mind. They would want to know what’s up. But when your face is looking nu-approachable or unfriendly that doesn’t smile even before you approach him he would’ve already send his secretary. Go and meet that person asks him what he wants. Always put on smiling face no matter what happens whether you quarrel with some one or not. This is because you don’t know who want to see you smile. You don’t know who is watching you. In case you don’t know, smile add to your beauty. It makes you look more attractive. So can I see you smile now?

EYE-TO-EYE CONTACT: this simply gives your customer the impression that you are bold, fearless, confident and sincere. It takes doubt out of the mind of your customer as a marketer. Whatever you tell them about your product, they will believe. They will take you for your words. This is because they have seen it in you. Whenever I am facing interview, I always look straight into the interviewer’s eye answering them with boldness. At time they get confused and wouldn’t know what to say further. Don’t always fear people but always respect them instead so that they too will reciprocate the respect.

ENTHUSIASM: Eager liking or interest. But we can define enthusiasm as the ability to tell people how good they are looking and to motivate. Enthusiasm is another important tool that helps to tame a positive mental attitude. It engaged the spirit that moves within. The English word, enthusiasm according to the dictionary is derived from the Greek [enthusiasmos] which means “inspiration” the two root words are ethous and entheos, which means “God or spirit within” this is the spirit that gingers one to motivate. The acronym of the last four letter words of enthusiasm means, “I am seriously motivated”. This is where people start to love every thing you stand for when you able to motivate, telling them how good they are looking could make them go extra mile for your sake. with these three ingredients of introduction, you can simply sell yourself positively to that person you’re meeting for the first time. This is what our manager always tells us selling ourselves before selling our merchandise. Selling yourself entails making your customer to be happy. This is because somebody who is happy is more likely to buy your product than somebody who is not happy. When I was in the field I exhibit these three ingredients that makes perfect introduction. Before approaching any customer, I always smile looking into their eyes and begin to enthuse them. Oh my God! You’re looking so wonderful.How’re you today? wow! How I wish we could exchange our tie. Sir, do you know what? What? You look like my uncle in London. You could imagine some one coming to high your moral like this. How would you feel? I am sure your head would be swelling causing every single hair to stand separately. Oh that take me back in retrospect to what one of my fellow trainee manager told us during one of her motivational speech that she was going to somewhere one day when she saw a couple walking together. What really drew her attention was the couple compatibility and the way they dressed. She walked close to the woman and said [hello madam, you’re looking beautiful with wonderful smile on her face]. The woman looked at her husband and he seems not to understand what happening. The woman needed her husband to hear it. She told my manager to repeat what she just said aloud to her husband hears. My manager was so sharp to have understood what the woman wanted. Perhaps the man doesn’t know how beautiful the wife looks or maybe he knows but don’t know how to enthuse his wife or affirms her. You could trust her at this time. She enthused her to her husband hearing and both of them were happy that day. Just imagine this drama happened during her marketing field’s day. you could tell that the couple would have bought her product. As you go out today, meeting people and new friends, remember to apply these three ingredients we’ve just discussed about and see the effect and response.
